RUNNING WILD COLD LAKE

Run Wild Live Free

Who am I?

My name is Melanie Bouchard and I have lived in Cold Lake, almost my entire life. I have always had a passion for trail running, nature and the outdoors. I wanted to create a website to share the trails with people whether they are fast, slow, new to running or have ran for years. I discovered a great camaraderie at a local crossfit gym Functionally Fit and hoped I could bring that same sense of community to the local running community. Hopefully, in the future we can host a running clinic and some more events in the area. So, come check out the trails, local events and great things to come.

Commonly Asked Questions:

Where do I find the group?

Check out the local club on Facebook at Cold Lake Rum Runners (link below). There is also a Triathlon group and it is also on Facebook: Cold Lake Triathlon.

What does it cost?

There is no memberships or fees, it's absolutely free to come run with us. When there are races which we post, that are hosted by other companies or groups, there could be fees from those organizations to participate.

How do I join?

Sign up for the group on our facebook page and come out for one of the posted runs. This is a fantastic way to meet fellow runners in the local area.

When do we run?

Follow Cold Lake Rum Runners on Facebook and see the dates and times for runs. Post one if you like as well. The runs are usually on Sundays and Thursdays depending on the season and daylight hours.

What types of events go on?

We list a variety of local and out of town events on our Facebook page, so you can stay on top of what is happening in the area. Events hosted by the club will be listed on this website as well as the Facebook group site.

Can you build me a training program?

Currently, I am not certified to build a running program for you. Check out the link to local certified professionals in your area under training.

What happens during the "long" winter season?

We still run outside :) But sometimes we will mix it up with some cross country skiing, snow shoeing and track work at the Energy Centre.
